New Summer Flavors At Kapolei’s Best Restaurants
Ready to taste something new? Kapolei’s top chefs are here to help—these are the best menu additions and specials for July.
Takumi
Takumi’s July special is classic surf and turf: A 10 oz. New York strip steak served with prawns, a corn and mushroom ragout. It’s finished with a garlic whisk compound butter. It’s pictured above, but here’s another view.
Kalapawai Cafe & Deli
At Kalapawai, Chef Leif Grove has introduced a host of summer dishes.
- Heirloom Tomato Caprese
- Ahi Tempura Sushi Roll
- Waipoli Farms Salad
- Shrimp and Penne Pasta
- Crab Staffed Fresh Fish

La Hiki
Mondays are now Steak Night—the star of the menu, if you dare to try it, is a 27 oz. Angus Beef Tomahawk Steak.
Fridays are Pa`ina Night. La Hiki is serving a luau-style menu featuring a whole kalua pig.
Saturdays can now start with La Hiki’s incredible brunch—named the best brunch buffet on the island by Thomas Obungen of Frolic. Once only offered on Sundays, it’s now available Saturdays too. 11am-2pm, both days.
Eating House 1849
Roy Yamaguchi’s 30th anniversary party on July 15 is the highlight of the month at Eating House, but you’ll definitely also want to drop by to try these:
Foodland
No, not a restaurant, but for the food you bring home and cook, Foodland has a new reusable bag design.
