This Month: The First-Ever Concert On The Four Seasons’ Ocean Lawn
On Saturday, October 19, more than 90 musicians of the Honolulu Wind Ensemble will perform songs and orchestral arrangements from popular movies, including Pirates of the Caribbean, Jurassic Park, and A Star is Born. The concert is part of the resort’s Makani Music Series.
A Concert, An Incredible View, And Delectable Dinner
The concert will be two full hours of music, with a 20-minute intermission. Along with the music, you’ll get top-notch scenery and food. The concert will begin just a few minutes after sunset. Attendees will be able to watch an incredible natural light show as the music plays.
Plus, the ticket price includes vouchers for a special menu from each of the Four Seasons’ top-notch restaurants, who’ll be cooking from booths right on the lawn. You’ll be able to choose from Lechon Kewali and classic cocktails from La HIki Steak, indulgent pastas from Noe, and line-to-table inspired fare from Mina’s Fish House.
It’s About What You’d Pay For Dinner & A Concert In Town
The ticket price of $85 per person includes table seating, valet parking, and food vouchers.
Now, for two people, $170 sounds like a lot.
But if you compare it to the cost of going to a classical concert in town — what you’d pay for parking, dinner, the tickets — it works out to about the same, minus the long drive.
(You can also reserve a VIP Package for $135/person, which includes front-row seating and table service.)
The Honolulu Wind Ensemble Has Been Practicing All Year For This Unique Event
The event was the idea of a Four Seasons employee, Henry Fang, who is also a member of the Honolulu Wind Ensemble. Fang, a catering sales executive at the resort, presented the concept to hotel management last year. After getting the okay, the group has now been practicing for this concert since the start of the year.
“This is kind of a test, because this is the first time Honolulu Wind Ensemble is doing a concert at this scale,” Fang told me. “We’d love to continue it to be a yearly thing. That’s the ultimate goal.”
“It’s nice to do something different,” says Director of Catering and Conference Services Amanda Douglas, who is helping to organize the event. “It’s nice to bring our local community here … and to show that there’s another side of the island that you can come to and have fun, whether it’s with your family or significant other.”
The Honolulu Wind Ensemble is a mix of amateur and professional players, led by conductor Keith Higaki. See below for the complete concert program.
Tickets for the event are available via phone only. Call the hotel’s front desk at 808-679-0079 to reserve your spot.
