A New Kapolei 5K Series Starts Saturday

A new Kapolei running race series starts Saturday, November 23.

The Island Pacific Academy Navigators Athletics Booster Club is putting on three 5K runs — one in November, one in December, and one in January — to support IPA sports. They’re aiming to get 200 people for each race.

Some details that pertain to each race:

  • Each race has a $30 early-bird entry fee
  • Races are family-friendly — walkers/strollers allowed
  • Each race and course is certified by USA Track & Field
  • You can register as a team (3 runners) for a slight discount on each entry

Turkey Trot 5K (Sat., Nov. 23, 7am)

The race begins in the Safeway parking lot at Laulani Village Shopping Center in ʻEwa Beach. The course loops towards Hoakalei and through Ocean Pointe before returning. Note: The early-bird $30 entry fee has passed for this one. You can still register on race day for a $40 fee. [Register]

Jingle Bell Jog 5K (Sat., Dec. 23, 7pm)

Yes, that 7pm is correct. This nighttime race starts at Ka Makana Aliʻi and goes up Kualakaʻi Parkway — a slight uphill on the way out, but a pleasant downslope and a view of the mall holiday lights on the way back. Register before November 30th to get the $30 entry fee. [Register]

Resolution Run 5K (Sat., Jan. 4, 7am)

Burn off a few calories to start the year. The run will start at Island Pacific Academy — exact course TBD. Register before December 1 to get the $30 early-bird entry fee. [Register]
