Kapolei Dentists

Today's Supporting Sponsor: Kapolei Lofts | Studio-living in the heart of Kapolei

Kapolei has a bit of a dental district—several of the city’s best independent dentists on the makai side of Farrington Highway, near Kapolei Regional Park. If you’ve ever dreamed of going to 5 dentists in a day, you could easily do it here.

Dental Care Kapolei

Bordering on the park, Dental Care Kapolei is led by Pearl City born Dr. Scott Arakawa. Call 808-674-8808 to make an appointment.

Dr. Scott Arakawa

Arakawa is a famous name on the west side—the Arakawa General Store was a Waipahu fixture from 1909-1995. Dr. Arakawa keeps the tradition of local small business going with his dental practice. He attended UH-Manoa as an undergrad, but got his dental degree at the University of Iowa.

Dr. Nestor M. Santiago, DDS

Dr. Santiago, from Chicago, came to Hawai’i to join the US Army Dental Command at Schofield Barracks. He lives in Mililani.

Dr. Stuart P. Thompson, DDS

Also from the Chicago area, Dr. Thompson was a dental officer in the Air Force and is Chief of Dental Services in the Hawai’i Air National Guard.

Dental Perfections — Dr. Kern K. Agader, DMD

Just a little bit toward town on Farrington, next to the Texaco, is Dental Perfections. Dr. Agader grew up in Mililani, attended UH-Manoa, and got his dental training at Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Agader has done extra training at The Dawson Academy so he can treat folks who need full mouth restorations.

You can make an appointment request online or call 808-674-8895.

What’s The Difference Between A DDS and a DMD?

According to the American Dental Association, there is no difference.

Some dental schools give their graduates a “Doctor in Dental Surgery” and others call them a “Doctor in Dental Medicine” but the training is exactly the same.

Dr. Michael Okano, DDS

Dr. Okano’s office is on the other side of the park, near the Post Office. Okano has been practicing in Kapolei since 2001. Call 808-674-9299 to make an appointment.

West Oahu Dental Center — Dr. Genny D. Alcantra, DMD

Dr. Alcantara’s office is on the Waianae side of the park, too. Alcantra attended Centro Escolar University in the Philippines, and has been in private practice since 2008. For an appointment, fill out their online form or call 808-692-8888.

Dr. Andrew C. Dado

Dr. Dado’s office is in Kapolei Village Center, where Foodland is. Dr. Dado was born at Tripler—his dad was US Navy. Dado followed in dad’s footsteps. After getting his dental degree at Virginia Commonwealth University, he was a dental officer in the Navy. Call (808) 674-1222 to make an appointment.
